At Pergola Cave, we stand behind the quality of every Sunkisser motorized louvered pergola we sell. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not, this policy outlines your options for returns, exchanges, and refunds.
1. 60-Day Return Guarantee
All pergolas and accessories purchased directly from Pergola Cave (pergolacave.com or by phone/email) are eligible for return within sixty (60) calendar days from the date of delivery, for any reason. No explanation is required.
To qualify for a return:
- The product must be in its original condition, including all components, hardware, motors, and packaging materials.
- Items that have been installed may still be returned, provided they are disassembled, properly repackaged, and show no damage beyond normal handling.
- You must contact our Customer Support team to initiate a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) before shipping any product back.
- The 60-day period begins on the date the product is delivered to your address, as confirmed by carrier tracking.
2. Return Shipping
The Customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. This includes:
- Proper packaging and palletizing of the pergola to ensure safe transport back to our warehouse.
- Arranging and paying for freight/carrier service to ship the product to our designated return facility.
- All risk of loss or damage during return transit lies with the Customer. We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance and using a carrier that provides tracking and delivery confirmation.

3. Restocking Fee
A restocking fee of 10% of the original purchase price will be deducted from refunds for products returned after 14 calendar days from delivery. Returns initiated within the first 14 days of delivery are exempt from the restocking fee, provided the product is in its original, unused condition with all packaging intact.

4. Cancellation Policy
- Within 14 Days of Delivery β No Fees:Β Orders may be canceled or returned within 14 calendar days of delivery at no cost to the Customer. This applies regardless of whether the order is pre-shipment, in transit, or already delivered. Pergola Cave will cover any recall or return logistics costs during this period. The Customer is only responsible for return shipping if the product has already been delivered (see Section 2).
- Pre-Delivery Cancellations After 14 Days:Β For orders canceled more than 14 days after delivery, or for orders canceled before delivery where the product has been dispatched, a cancellation fee of 10% of the order total will apply.
- In-Transit Recall After 14 Days:Β If the order has already been dispatched and the 14-day fee-free window has passed, the Customer will be responsible for a $500 recall and restocking fee in addition to the 10% cancellation fee.
5. Refund Process
Once we receive your returned product at our warehouse, we will conduct an inspection within 5 business days. Refunds are processed as follows:
- Good condition:Β A refund of the original purchase price, less any applicable restocking fee, will be issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of inspection completion.
- Damaged or incomplete returns:Β If the product arrives at our facility damaged, incomplete, or in a condition that diminishes its resale value, Pergola Cave reserves the right to deduct an additional amount from the refund reflecting the reduction in value, or to deny the return entirely.
- Original shipping charges:Β Original outbound shipping charges paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable, unless the return is due to a Pergola Cave error (wrong item shipped, defective product, etc.).
6. Accessory Returns
Accessories (drop blinds, heaters, privacy screens, LED kits, and similar add-ons) follow the same 60-day return window. The Customer is responsible for return shipping costs. Accessories must be unused and in original packaging to qualify for a full refund (less any applicable restocking fee).
Pergola Cave does not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to swap an accessory for a different model or color, please initiate a return and place a new order.
7. Damaged or Defective Products
If your pergola or accessory arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. Pergola Cave will, at its discretion:
- Ship replacement parts at no charge.
- Arrange a full product replacement at no additional cost.
- Issue a full refund, including original shipping, if a replacement is not available.
Important: Please photograph any visible transport damage upon delivery and note it on the carrier's delivery receipt. While failure to document damage does not void your rights, it helps us resolve your claim faster.
8. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return:
- Custom-fabricated or made-to-order pergolas built to non-standard specifications at the Customer's request.
- Products with modifications, alterations, or damage caused by the Customer (including improper installation or misuse).
- Items returned after the 60-day return window.
9. How to Initiate a Return
To start a return, please follow these steps:
- Contact us by email atΒ returns@pergolacave.comΒ or by phone atΒ (818) 213-2111Β to request an RMA number.
- Repackage the product securely in its original packaging (or equivalent protective packaging) and palletize for freight shipment.
- Label the outside of the package with your RMA number.
- Ship the product to our return address (provided with your RMA confirmation). We recommend insured freight with tracking.
- Confirmation: Once we receive and inspect the product, we will notify you by email and process your refund.
10. Warranty Claims vs. Returns
This return policy is separate from Pergola Cave'sΒ 10-Year Limited Warranty, which covers structural defects and manufacturing issues beyond the 60-day return period. If you experience a product defect after the return window, please contact us to file aΒ warranty claim. Warranty claims are handled at no cost to the Customer for covered components.
